Weather

Climate: Austria is one of the most mountainous countries in Europe. Summer months in the valleys are sunny & bright whilst the mountains are often shrouded in mist & fog. In winter the opposite occurs, mountain resorts are fresh & sunny, whilst the valleys are cloaked in cloud & fog. Southwest mountain resorts draw as much winter snow as those in the north, but summers tend to be more pleasant with long periods of bright sunshine. The weather conditions can change here without warning & can become unsettled with sudden thunderstorms.
