Passport & Visa Info

The following details relate to holders of adult normal passports (requirements for children may be different), if any other type of passport or travel document is held, entry requirements should be checked with the relevant embassy or consulate.

Passports
Required by all.

Passport Validity: Please contact nearest embassy/consulate.

Visas
The following DO NOT require a visa:
1) Nationals of Bahrain.
2) Nationals of Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia & United Arab Emirates.

Notes: Tourist visas valid for stays up to 2 weeks can be obtained on arrival at Bahrain International Airport issued to nationals of: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland Rep, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom & United States.

Air Transit
Required by all except those as noted above and:
1) Persons either in transit by the same service or persons holding confirmed onward reservations within 24 hours, provided they do not leave the airport.

Notes:
1) Transit visas valid for 24 hours are available on arrival if transitting more than 8 hours (except nationals of Iran, Iraq & Vietnam).
2) Transit visas valid for 72 hours are available on arrival provided holding confirmed onward/return tickets & documentation (except nationals of Iran, Iraq & Vietnam).
3) A letter of recommendation is required by the following, who should apply for a visa prior to arrival:
a) Nationals of Algeria, Comoros, Dijibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates & Yemen who are not visa exempt.
b) Nationals of Asian countries (except Japan)
c) Nationals of African countries.

Bahrain Embassy or Consulate in UK
The Bahrain Embassy in London, issues six-month visit visas for approximately 20 pounds sterling. Three-month visas are granted on arrival for the equivalent of around 10 pounds sterling. Do not overstay the period of time allowed on your visa. Penalties and extension are surprisingly expensive.
