The following details relate to holders of adult normal passports (requirements for children may be different), if any other type of passport or travel document is held, entry requirements should be checked with the relevant embassy or consulate.
Passports
Required, but NOT by the following:
1) Holders of a `Cedula de Identidad' issued to nationals of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay & Uruguay provided travelling directly to Chile as tourists.
Passport Validity: Passports must be valid for 6 months.
Visas
The following DO NOT require a visa:
1) Nationals of Chile
2) For tourist visits up to 90 days by holders of a Tourist Card issued to:
a) Holders of British passports
b) Nationals of Andorra, Antigua & Barbuda, Argentina, Australia (entrace fee payable on arrival), Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada (entrace fee payable on arrival), Colombia, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Rep, Denmark, Dominican Rep, Ecuador, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Grenada, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland Rep, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Korea (South), Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mauritius, Mexico (entrace fee payable on arrival), Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, San Marino, Serbia & Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Suriname, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Tonga, Turkey, United States (entrace fee payable on arrival), Uruguay & Venezuela
3) For stays up to 60 days by nationals of Greece, Indonesia & Peru
4) For stays up to 30 days by nationals of Belize, Costa Rica, Malaysia & Singapore
Notes: Nationals of the following countries are required to pay an Entrance Fee when visiting as tourists: Australia (USD 34), Canada (USD 55), Mexico (USD 15) & United States (USD 100).
Air Transit
Required by all except those as noted above and:
1) Persons continuing their journey to a third country on the same day without leaving the airport transit area, provided holding confirmed onward tickets.
Re-entry Permits
Required by alien residents not in possession of a `Certificado de Permanencia Definitiva'. A re-entry permit or visa (depending on nationality) must be obtained prior to departure.
Special Notes
All visitors must hold onward/return tickets & sufficient funds for length of stay.
