When do they have sales in Andorra?

- Present legislation does not regulate sales as yet. Commercial premises start and finish their sales according to their own sales policies. Normally, Winter sales are held between the end of December and the end of February, while Summer sales take place between the end of July and the end of August, but there are no exact dates.
Which days are Andorran shops obliged to stay closed?
The shops in the Principality are only obliged to close 4 days a year:
- January 1st – New Year
- March 14 – Constitution Day
- September 8 – National Day – Our Lady of Meritxell
- December 25 - Christmas
What are the opening hours?
Generally speaking, shops can stay open until 20:00 from Monday to Friday, 21:00 on Saturdays and until 19:00 on Sundays.
Shops opening hours are extended until 21:00 on these dates:
January: 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th
April: 13th, 14th, 16th, and 30th
August: from 1st to 31st (except Sundays)
October: 12th and 13th
December: from 4th to 8th and from 26th to 29th
Shops opening hours are limited to 19:00 as follows:
January: 6th
April: 17th
May: 1st
September: 11th and 25th

How can I set up a business in Andorra?
- At present the right to operate a business or professional practice is limited to those invested with economic rights - Andorran nationals and foreigners who can show a minimum of 20 years continuous residence in the Principality. Can you camp freely in Andorra?
This is totally prohibited in this country. You should always go to an official campsite. You can find a list of those in Andorra on our search engine for tourist accommodation. As for camping on the mountains, this should always be done around the mountain refugis (cabins).

Do you need a visa to enter the country?
- Tourists coming from any country of the European Union do not need a visa to enter Andorra (Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Nederland, Belgium, Luxemburg, Ostrich, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Greece, United-Kingdom, Ireland, and from may 1st, 2004, Malta, Cyprus, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania ). Those countries requiring a Schengen visa to enter and leave the communitarian area, should ask a several entries visa. In order to obtain it, please contact the French or Spanish Consulate.

Are there Andorran Euros?
- Andorra does not have its own currency and since the disappearance of the Spanish peseta and French franc, uses the euro. Since Andorran euros have not yet been issued, euros from European countries are used.
How do you marry in Andorra?
- In order to marry in Andorra, at least one of the spouses must be Andorran or resident.
When can you ski in Andorra?
- In Andorra, depending of course on the amount of snow, the ski resorts usually open for the first weekend in December, coinciding with the feast of Purissima (December 8th), and normally close at the end of Easter, although some resorts may stay open until early May.
