There is a lot of choice with water sports. In brief you can choose from sailing lessons (E£50/hour), windsurfing (E£60/hour), parasailing (E£150/hour) and treading boats (E£30/hour), as well as trips with glass-bottom boats (E£30/hour) or banana boats (E£60/half hour). Among other sports are camel riding to so-called traditional Bedouin villages.

The Lake of Egypt Association of Property Owner (LEAPO) maintains the boat ramp, and somewhat, the lake. The Chamber of Diving and Watersports (CDWS) is dedicated to diving and marine services, and water sports such as yacht and motor boat activities along Egypt's coastlines. Responsible for registering companies whose services fall under the aquatic domain, the Egyptian Chamber of Diving and Water Sports issues such companies with a certified work permit. The CDWS has its own General Assembly with some 591 representatives across the country. 15 Board of Directors represent the General Assembly and a Secretary General.
CDWS is a dedicated body under the umbrella of the Egyptian Tourist Federation committed to all diving and watersport activities which take place throughout Egypt’s coastal waters. The Chamber of Diving and Watersports was founded by Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism in 2007 with a goal to improve quality, safety and standard of services in the diving and watersports industry, as well as to preserve unique environment of the Red Sea. All diving centres and safari boats will meet ISO standards EN 14467 / ISO 24803 for diving by 2009 as agreed with Egypt’s CDWS, the Austrian Institute of Norms and the European Underwater Federation.
Most of the diving in the Red Sea area is done with a shore-based, day boat dive operation or a live aboard dive boat. The currents in these areas vary from no current to very strong, so it is strongly advised to dive or snorkel with guides or with experienced divers who have dove in the area before and are familiar with the conditions. A romantic snorkeling trip with desert island relaxation on the beautiful red sea, where we will do our snorkeling in different spots which are full of corals and magnificent colorful fish with a chance to swim with dolphins, enjoying the water sport.
Surf motion provides both windsurfing and kite boarding. “Kiters” are in the area a little upwind in some very shallow water (especially during low tide), while windsurfers sail out right from the surf station. This is a very convenient separation since it avoids the usual problems when kite boarders (with their kites on long strings) and windsurfers (with long masts) get tangled up.
The word "diving" conjures up a number of different meanings, most of which have the action involving descending. I say "most" since "diving out the door to escape a wife or husband spitting tacks" probably doesn't count! Diving, for our purposes, basically means spending time underwater. Snorkelling, as the name suggests, is when a diver is using a mask, snorkel and fins to swim around, mainly on the surface, looking down to see what is under the water.
Occasionally snorkellers dive down for closer investigation of the underwater world. Common free diving activities include spear fishing, photography (with no bubbles it's easier to get closer to your subject) and various competitions SCUBA stands for Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. It is a system originally designed by Jacques Cousteau in which high-pressure air is stored in tanks and reduced to a breathable pressure - that of the surrounding (ambient) water pressure.
Egypt has a flourishing fishing industry. The Aswan High Dam adversely affected fishing along the Mediterranean coast; today about 70% of the total catch is obtained from inland waters, including fisheries along Lake Nasser. Lake Nasser was created when the Aswan Dam was built and covers on area of 2,400 square miles. Aside from fantastic fishing the lake is a magical wilderness of stunning desert scenery. The area is thinly populated by peasant fishermen; the local residents are Bedouin. Over 100 species of birds have been recorded. In most areas there are crocodile and monitor lizards. Dorcas gazelle, jackals, desert fox and various smaller desert mammals inhabit the area. Nile perch is one of the largest freshwater fish and can be caught on conventional and fly-fishing tackle; the most reliable record for Lake Nasser is 176 kilos (392lbs). The best fish caught on a safari is 90 kilos (200lbs) caught by Wilma McDermid.
Tiger fish abound in the lake, and of several species, the most common is Hydrocynus forskalii, which grows to 5.5 kilos (12lbs); the size and strength of a Nile perch is one thing but for sheer sport on light tackle, a tiger fish takes a lot of beating. Catfish offer great sport, the largest caught to date is 74lb 8oz. The Red Sea offers some excellent deep sea fishing and extensions to enjoy this can be added. Most of fish have a preferred temperature of water that they will actively feed in. Find this area of temperature with fish present and you will greatly increase your chances of catching fish.
The Climate in Egypt is most temperate; the sun practically shines the year around, at least eight hours a day, and rainy days are exception. Even in the summer months(June - August), the northen wind blowing from Europe brings about a milder weather. Although the desert regions of the country have a continental climate, the Nile- valley keeps a temperate climate throughout the year. Ancient writings indicate that, as far back as Pharaonic times, a large number of Egyptian Cities enjoyed a healthy climate, with curative properties.
The Ancient Greek scientists who fathered the science of therapeutics have emphasized in their writings the importance of Egypt in that domain, and adviced people to benefit from the climate and sun of Egyptian cities. Herodotus states that the good health of the Egyptian and their strong constitution is due to the ever shining sun of Egypt, and the wholesome climate of its cities. Egypt is known for its mineral springs, such as those of Helwan, the most important town for therapeutic tourism. The relevant authorities in the country have established physiotherapeutic centers, such as Helwan, Ein Esseera, El- Goushbi, Fayoum , Mersa Matrouh the shores of the Red Sea, Aswan and many others. Egypt has a large number of modern specialised hospitals, equipped with sophisticated medical appliances.
The shores of the Red Sea are located in ideal geographical locations, with open sea, hot flat desert and high mountains in the background creating classic strong thermocline winds. The constant annual wind strengths average 4-6 Bft. In the morning there are usually strong crosshore winds, and in the afternoon the wind drops and changes to an onshore direction. There are no geographical wind obstructions, and with waves at times reaching up to 1.5m height, the conditions are perfect for jumping.
After signing in at the centre, you are taken to the marina where the boat is waiting. Once on board, you are securely harnessed in and lifted up slowly, as if you were floating on air. You never even have to get wet! And if you like to be dunked in the sea near the end of your ride, just let the Captain know. Anybody with a weight of at least 30 kilos can fly and there are no age limits on parasailing. People aged 87 have experienced the thrill of parasailing. Certain weather conditions may pose limitations to the operation.
The purpose built skiboat together with the ski team will take you skiing, or if you prefer wake boarding to new extremes. You leave from the marina located 100 meters from the main centre and ski in front of the main centre protected from the prevailing North-East wind ensuring wave free rides. Using top of the line HO and Hyperlite water-ski and wakeboard equipment this can be taught from novice to advanced in most of the major disciplines.
