Passport & Visa Info
The following details relate to holders of adult normal passports (requirements for children may be different), if any other type of passport or travel document is held, entry requirements should be checked with the relevant embassy or consulate.
Passports
Required by all
Passport Validity: Passports must be valid for at least 6 months from day of departure.
Visas
The following DO NOT require a visa:
1) Nationals of France
2) For stays up to 3 months by:
a) British subjects being `Citizen of the United Kingdom & Colonies' holding passport with endorsement `Holder has the right of abode in the United Kingdom'
b) Nationals of Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland Rep, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, St. Martin, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland & Vatican City
3) For stays up to 1 month by nationals of Argentina, Bolivia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Rep, El Salvador, Ecuador, Estonia, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, Japan, Korea (South), Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Poland, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, United States & Uruguay.
Air Transit
Required by all except those as noted above and:
1) Persons continuing their journey to a third country by the same aircraft without leaving the airport (except nationals of Yemen)
2) Persons continuing their journey to a third country by the first connecting aircraft without leaving the airport (except nationals of Afghanistan, Albania, Angola, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bulgaria, Cambodia, China, Congo Dem Rep, Cuba, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Korea (North), Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Liberia, Libya, Moldova, Mongolia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Romania, Russia, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam & Yemen).
Special Notes
All visitors must hold a return ticket, except permanent residents of Tahiti, aliens holding a 10 year residence card for metropolitan France & nationals of Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland Rep, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden & United Kingdom.

French Polynesia Embassy or Consulate in UK
French Polynesia is an Overseas Collective (Collectivité d'Outre-Mer) of France. If you are a British Citizen or British Subject with Right of Abode in the UK, you will not need a visa to enter French Polynesia. Other British passport holders should confirm the current entry requirements with the nearest French Diplomatic mission.
