Climate: Sub-tropical oceanic climate with fairly high temperatures and humidity all year round. Rain falls at all times of the year with the wettest period from Jan-Apr. At this time of the year, tropical cyclones are an occasional hazard with very high winds and torrential rain.

Temperature and Humidity: In the summer months the average temperature in the North varies between 31°C during the day and 22°C at night. The figures for the winter months are 25/26°C during the day and 16°C at night.
