Safari Trip In South Africa, Kruger National Park, South Africa

Could you distinguish giraffe dung from that of impala, baboon or wild dog? Or rattle off the feeding habits of the white-tailed mongoose? Could you root out edible plants or find water in the driest parts of the African bush? At South Africa’s Sabi Wildlife Reserve, 310 miles east of Johannesburg in Kruger National Park, experienced trackers will teach safarigoers the basics of bush survival, game tracking and management on a four-day ranger training expedition in one of Africa’s richest natural environments. Based in a tent camp in the heart of the bush, small groups of visitors learn tracking and spoor identification skills, shooting, off-road driving, bush survival, astronomy and orienteering. Gaining an understanding of animal and plant behavior greatly enhances the African safari experience. Besides, you never know when you’ll need to know how to plot your direction from a termite mound, or how to track a three-ton rhino.
