Health risks

Hungary is a stable democracy with a market economy. Tourist facilities outside Budapest are widely available if not as developed as those found in Western Europe. Many of the goods and services taken for granted in other Western countries are not yet available outside the capital.

CRIME: Hungary has a low rate of violent crime.

Weather

Climate: Summers are usually warm to hot. Spring and early summer are generally the wettest seasons with heavy thundery downpours. Winters are usually cold and fog is frequent in more settled weather. Spring and autumn are fairly short seasons when the weather can be very changeable.

Clothing: Lightweights for summer, mediumweights for spring and autumn with heavyweights required for winter. Rainwear is recommended all year round.
